From Blackpool UK, Married in 2004 to a Charleston local, and moved to the USA. My best friend is a huge influence on me as she is a professional chef. Since all the meals that come out of her kitchen are so wonderful, I guess the want and need to prepare such wonderful meals finally began to rub off on me. I have a 2 year old son, so I also enjoy incorporating as much fresh veg into his diet while trying to "hide" the things he wont eat.

My favorite family cooking traditions
Being from England my family usually cooks the typical "meat, 2 veg and a starch" kind of meal. However, my new family in South Carolina have some wonderful old recipes for "meeting street shrimp", gumbo and all the southern favorites.
My cooking triumphs
My Moroccan Lamb Burgers - if you can call them a burger. I entertained several people with them and everyone wanted my recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Too many too list!
I had the in-laws over for dinner and made a Chicken Supreme, left it too long sat on the stove and it burned and turned black at the bottom of the pan....they suggested we call for pizza.
