About this Cook
I live in Central Texas with my husband, a master electrician and project manager and our two boys, ages 10 and 14. In my limited spare time, I enjoy bowling, bingo and bunco. (hey! I get 3 points for that!) I collect cookbooks and I love to just curl up on the couch with a new cookbook and flip through the pages! (Crazy, I know!) I enjoy spending time at my parent's ranch about an hour away. I even went deer hunting a couple of Winter's ago...and got my first doe! Can you believe? I'm not so sure I will be doing that again though. Ugh! Mainly because the rule is, if you kill it, you gotta clean it. Ick! But I do love venison and it is very healthy!
My favorite things to cook
We are a busy household with motocross, football practice, homework, etc etc, so I love trying new things in the slow cooker. My FAVORITE slow cooker thing is Erica's Pot Roast. (see my review and pic) It truly is a family favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every October since I was young, we have a family reunion and everyone brings their favorite dish. Over the years, I have gathered many, many favorite family recipes...enough to fill a large cookbook. My mom and dad are both great cooks and I have learned tips and secrets. ;o) My mom had my brother and I helping with dinner since I we were old enough to reach the stove.
My cooking triumphs
I think one of my greatest triumphs was making Divinity! Wow! I definitely did not know what I was getting into, but it turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
I have burned many things until I learned that you don't have to have the burner on HIGH for everything. Medium-low works just fine, thank you Emeril!! (he even pulled the knob off one show and put it in front of the camera and pointed... MEDIUM!!)

Incredible! I saw these made on the Food Network and I wanted to try them so the first place I came to look for a recipe was here!! My kids and hubby LOVED them!

Quick and Easy Chicken Spaghetti
My 10 year old just loves chicken spaghetti and this recipe is great! I added some milk to mine because the cheese can get thick. It's even better the next day!

Dave's Ultimate Guacamole
This was very easy. I didn't have any salsa on hand, so I diced a Roma tomato and some onion. The hot sauce added an extra kick and was great!
