About this Cook
I won't lie, I am a bit of a foodie. Currently I am a University student working in politics who is also a freelance writer. I am in love with great food. Why should you eat something you don't enjoy? Through my travels I have really figured out what I love. There is something amazing about cooking/baking for other people. I enjoy sharing what I am passionate about with others.
My favorite things to cook
I actually write a baking column for our local newspaper featuring 'Gourmet Cupcakes' So, I am very into inventive baking. I come up with my own recipes. I love cooking foods from all cultures and locations. I am willing to try anything once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Christmas Eve my Father and I always make latkes together. It is an odd tradition considering Chanukah isn't always during Christmas. But it is just something we both love and share together.
My cooking triumphs
One Christmas my Mother was recovering from major cardiac surgery and was unable to cook our Christmas dinner. I had to step up to the plate and cooked my first turkey this year. It turned out perfect and I was so proud. Now I love cooking for large groupos of people.
My cooking tragedies
I love to bake cookies, however I have been known to make errors... occasionally! I was watching a movie and baking cookies. I accidentally forgot to add an entire cup of flour to the cookies. Well, they spread out and took over the entire pan. Ooooooooozing down off the baking sheet and into the oven. Mmm peanut butter goo. It was a very bad scene.

Crepes
This recipes is incredible easy and impressive. Every single crepe turned out! I have been making a lot of spinach/goat cheese crepes. Pour the batter into your pan and let one side cook. Flip and then add a bunch of fresh spinach on top with crumbled goat cheese. Once the other side is cooked I flip each side of the crepe to make a pocket and let the goat cheese inside melt. Delicious!

Herbed Potato Soup
This was incredibly easy and incredibly delicious! I minced a couple cloves of garlic and minced a rib of celery for this one. I sauted the onion with the celery and garlic. For the rest of it I followed the directions. It was so filling and satisfying. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful and easy recipe!

Matzo Brei
This recipe is great with tweaking. My Dad used to make this a lot for us growing up. Really play around with it until it is perfect for you. We eat it with my grandmother's homemade jam.
