I am a recipe collector and I love cookbooks. The problem is I only make about 2% of the recipes I collect.
Its just my husband and I so its a hassle sometimes to cook just for the two of us - because then we have leftovers for days and we get sick of them and throw them out half the time.
We are raising a foster puppy for PAWS with a Cause - which is a charity that trains dogs for deaf and disabled persons. Our puppy's name is Windsor and she's a crazy golden retriever.
My favorite things to cook
Stir fry's are my favorite. I also like making things in my crockpot.
I'm known for my good appetizers I always make - most of those recipes I've gotten from allrecipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big breakfast on Christmas morning with homemade waffles (no eggos!)- all the Christmas Cookies my mom always made.
My cooking triumphs
Last new years, I made this gorgeous spread - and had it laid out just like something Sandra Lee would do for one of her "tablescapes" I had cocktail sauce in martini glasses, delicious appetizers all presented beautifully, everything was fancy - my friends were all impressed. That was my proudest cooking moment.
My cooking tragedies
Well - when I was on Atkins I tried to make these Garlic Cheddar Biscuits like Red Lobster - using Pork rinds. Doesn't just the sound of that make you throw up in your mouth a little bit? I got the recipe from some atkins message board - they smelled and looked delicious...my husband and I both spit it out of our mouth at the same time.
Once I made a homemade cheesecake at my bosses house - and thinking that this big jar of white crystals was sugar - made this gorgeous cheesecake. But.....as you can predict, it was salt not sugar. Talk about disgusting.
