A Southern Fried Chicken
I made this last week for my husband wo LOVES my mom's fried chicken. He ate it, but did not say he loved it like he does my mom's. I HATED IT! I switched hot sauce for the bbq sauce like the suggestion of another reviewer. That didn't help it taste better. There was so much "batter" you could hardly taste anything of the spices. It was also VERY MESSY! I will not make this again and will just stick with my mom's recipe.

Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy
I made this for my husband & I last week. My husband is a huge ketchup fan, so he just ate the gravy alone after all the patties were gone (I made a little extra gravy for this reason). I added 2 cloves of minced garlic, slices of green bel pepper, 2 beef boullion cubes to the gravy & a beaten egg to the meat mixture. The flavor of the meat was really good & they were extremely moist. I guess I need to add more bread crumbs or take the suggestion of another reviewer and soak the bread in milk before mixing with the meat. My patties were a little "loose". I handled them gingerly so they wouldn't fall apart, but some pieces did manage to fall off the patties. I served them with homemade mashed red potatoes & broccoli. My husband was in love. I will definitley make it again. Thanks for an quick & easy weeknight recipe.

Garlic Shrimp and Pasta
I made this last night for my husband and he LOVED it! I sauteed 1 chopped onion, 2 extra cloves of garlic, a handful of sliced mushrooms and the shrimp in 2 tablespoons of butter (you could use EVOO to make it a little healthier, but butter tastes soooo good). I removed that from the pan before mixing the ingredients for the sauce. Then I added the onions, garlic, mushrooms and shrimp back to the sauce and let them simmer together for a few minutes. Then I tossed with hot thin spaghetti noodles. With those few modifications, it was delicious and not too dry. I served it with a tossed salad and garlic bread. YUMMY! It will definitely be a keeper for my family.
