About this Cook
Just a silly teenager who secretly browses recipes in her spare time. I've always loved cooking, and I love finding crazy twists on classic food favourites. Cooking relaxes me. This site is thebest.
My favorite things to cook
DESSERT!! Cookies, cakes, ethnic delicacies, and most especially anything with Chocolate.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My twin sister and I make absolutely the best oatmeal raisin cookies you will ever taste, but we Have to make them together. Otherwise, they just lack that oompf we think comes solely from twinchefs
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I try a new recipe and my extremely skeptical family (especially my older brother, who adores watching me squirm with nerves over new foods) eats and enjoys it.
My cooking tragedies
Burning a birthday cake three hours before the party. Tragic squared: I'd used all of my ingredients the first go-around, and had to use a prepackaged cake

The Lisa-tini Martini
I haven't had it but I had a thought on how to improve it at least: instead of adding all the ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add one jigger each lemon vodka and orange liquor, shake it with ice, strain to a martini glass and top with champagne... I can't imagine shaking the champagne would be a good idea either way... that might make it a little less "strong" but hey if its just the taste that sucks then I'd say look for the pomegranate champagne cocktail: that was SO good

Triple Fudge Brownies
I'd give these five stars but I modified the recipe just a bit: the recipe as written (and when used with half 1% and half skim milk) was way too thick and I knew they'd be way to cakey, so I added about a 1/4 cup of leftover coffee and whisked that in before folding in only about a cup of chocolate chips. with those changes, THESE ARE SO GOOD!! cakey but fudgy at the same time (and I like mine super fudgy) and sooo chocolatey. I will absolutely make these again and again

Cinnamon Hazelnut Biscotti
Absolutely delicious. I didn't have hazelnuts so I used 1/2 c. of leftover chocolate chips instead. I also rushed a little and baked at 375 for exactly 23 minutes, cut the loaf and put the slices in the oven and turned off the heat so they crisped up while I was out of the house. Incredibly good!!
