Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
This pie was absolutely delicious! I made it yesterday for Thanksgiving and everyone at dinner raved about it. I used Ida Red apples (what I had on hand) and added 1 1/2 t cinnamon, 1/2 t nutmeg and 1/4 t allspice to the syrup. Then I poured 3/4 of the syrup over the apples in the crust, put the lattice top on and poured the remaining syrup over the lattice. My husband, whose favorite dessert is apple pie, says this one is "AWESOME!" :)

Homesteader Cornbread
This cornbread is delicious! I halved the recipe and baked in an 8x8 pyrex pan for my husband and I to go with chili. It is incredibly moist with just enough sweetness to balance out spicy food. I'm making it for a second time tonight and can't wait to eat it!

The Best Meatloaf
I followed the amounts given in this recipe, although added a few more spices and used bbq sauce instead of steak sauce. My husband loved the flavor, but I was dissapointed with the texture - it stuck to the pan despite being a greased, non-stick pan, and fell apart - was quite crumbly. So, I'll be looking for something moister that sticks together better, for my husband to make sandwiches with.
