I was about 15 yrs old and it was after school. I put some oil on the stove to make french fries "while" I got ready for my football game later that evening. Needless to say the oil caught fire and I panicked. I didn't cover up the fire to smother it out, I just picked up the pot and carried it outside. All was good, I didn't get burnt....untill I tossed the pot away from me. That's when the firey grease splashed on my hand! Now that was pain I had never experienced before. Talk about a lessons learned, I did the hard way.
