About this Cook
I'm a full time college student, a wife and a mother. My life is very busy but, I make sure my family gets a healthy home cooked meal every night.
My favorite things to cook
I love chicken and I think slow cookers are the best thing ever. My favorite thing about cooking is slipping in really healthy stuff without my family knowing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was an Air Force brat and we lived on Guam for a couple of years and my parents brought back native recipes like Lumpia and traditional Fried Rice.
My cooking triumphs
I feel that I triumph everytime I serve something to family and friends and they rave about how good it is.
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make a vegitarian spaghetti with spaghetti squash but, I boiled the squash. As you can imagine it turned out horrible and I had to go to the local grocery store for fried chicken that night.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes
These are the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. I made them for Thanksgiving and told my mom she was about to have to have the best mashed potatoes ever. She said no way hers were the best, after she ate them she agreed with me. At Christmas I made them for friends and told them they were the best ever. My friend told me I was wrong that his mom's were, again he agreed with me after he ate them. Thank you so much for this recipe. It has become a family favorite.

Fresh Broccoli Salad
FRESH EXPRESS USED TO SELL A BROCCOLI SALAD AT MY LOCAL GROCERY STORE AND MY FAMILY LOVED IT AND ASKED FOR IT ALL THE TIME. SOMETIME LAST YEAR THE STORE QUIT CARRYING IT. THIS RECIPE WAS EVEN BETTER. I DID OMIT THE ONIONS AS I DON'T LIKE RAW ONIONS AND I SUBSTITUTED SUNFLOWER SEEDS AND CRANRASINS. THANKS FOR THIS RECIPE I WILL DEFINATELY BE MAKING THIS AGAIN!

Chile Verde II
This was my first atempt at chile verde and it turned out great. Even better than expected. I cut the recipe in half and I only used 4 cups of stock and it was the perfect amount. I also slow roasted a pork roast with a spicy mexican rub on it and then shredded it instead of cubing it. My husband and son both complained when they saw all the green peppers and tomatillos on the counter but, there were no coplaints at the dinner table.
