Easy Creamy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
Delicious! I only had a 1 lb. tenderloin, so I cooked for 7 hours. It was on the verge of being dry, so next time I'll cook only 6 hours. I also injected the meat with some roasted red pepper juice, and it was the perfect addition. Added carrots and mushrooms, which worked perfectly.

Deep South Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This was excellent, and my husband told me multiple times how much he loved it. I did brine for 2 hours before cooking, and that did seem to add tenderness and moisture. It didn't crisp up quite as much as I thought it would, although I followed the directions to a tee. Advice on that?

Delicious! I wasn't sure how the meat would taste with the OJ, but it was perfect. HUbby also loved it, and we'll be making this again!

Delicious marinade! I think this was the best fish marinade we've tried so far, and I'll certainly keep making it.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
I give this 4 starts because my hubby abolutely loved it. Personally, I didn;t like the sweetness or the tartness of the peaches, but I'll admit this isn't my style at all. I think it would be geat for entertaining, as long as I don't have to eat it!! btw, THE CRUST WAS AWESOME....BTW the crust is incredible....I could eat the crust all day long!

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
My husband absolutely loved this. I personally thought it was way too sweet, but I'm honestly not much of a sugary dessert eater. The recipe could have been halved, because it's way too much for just the two of us, but I think it would be great for entertaining. The crust is fabulous!

Mimi's Slumgullion

This was god, and hubby loved it, but I felt it lacked something. (Not sure what!) I like my potatoes nice and crisp, and they turned out pretty soggy, although tasty. Not quite sure if I'l try this again, though I'll keep the recipe just because hubby liked it so much.

Great recipe! I didn;t bake as directed, but I will in the winter months. Instead, I saudeed everything and made into burritos. Wonderfully tasty, and hubby loved it!

Black Bean Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
Absolutely amazing! I have to say thanks for helping me finally (after 10 years of marriage) find a pasta salad that my husband likes! I did make a few changes....I used Mexican style beans and just left the juice they came in. I added kidney beans & black eyed peas. Threw in some habanero sauce, a package of jalapeno seasoning and about 1/4C of left over sour cream, just to get it out of the fridge. We'll be making this one over and over.

Flip Flop Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
Sorry, guys, but we didn't care for this at all. I doubled the seasonings, but all we could taste was butter. I was looking forward to a nice flavorful chicken breast, but it was one of the most bland things I've had in quite some time.

Tomato and Avocado Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
I honestly didn't care for the dressing, because I thought it was to much vinegar. My husband hates all vinegar, and he tried it but didn't like it. I loved the combo of the veggies, however, and I'll make this again, maybe next time using olive oil or garlic oil.

Spinach and Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
This was wonderful! Never mind the fact that I took the chicken out of the pan, put it on paper towels, went out to throw away trash and came back in to find that the dog had counter surfed and eaten one of our chickens! We ended up splitting the remaining piece, but it was wonderful! I topped with tomato slices and parm cheese when I put them back into the pan, and our only complaint was against the klepto dog! I'll certainly make this again and again.

Gouda and Spinach Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
Truthfully, I was disappointed with this recipe. I stuffed with spinach, mushrooms and cheese, which was great, but we couldn't taste the horseradish at all. The chops got very watery in the pan, and they were swimming by the time they were done. Great idea, but I think it needs tweaking.

Bratwurst Potato Skillet

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This was just great. My only complaint was that the potatoes weren't crispy enough for me. (I'll admit that the only way I like them is just about burned.) Next time I'll start a lot earlier and make sure the taters get good and browned before adding the other ingredients.

Wonderful! I'll admit that we love spicy foods, but I did go overboard on the red pepper. It tasted great, but I'm paying for it this morning. I'll certainly make this again.

Split Pea Soup Atu

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
Overall, this had a nice flavor, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It didn't thicken nearly as much as I thought it would. Use much water. It was also a bit too dilly for me, and I love dill. I'd cut the dill by half, but I don't think we'll make this again.

This did taste very good, but the eggs didn't set the way I would have liked, even after cooking for an additional 12 minutes. I believe I'll keep trying other sausage recipes for now.

Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
This is excellent, after following the chef's directions. We made several batches, and ended up the last doubling the sugar and the vanilla. Loved it, and we'll certainly be making this again! BTW.....are vanilla beans always so expensive? I looked, and the only store that carried them here had one bean for $17! Suggestions? Thanks! Shannon
