Simple Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
These were suprisingly delicious. I was surprised because the dough was so sticky, I didn't think they would turn out at all. I would definitely add more flour on the board when I press them into the circle. I omitted the raisins and added frozen raspberries and white chocolate chips. That was a delicious combination. I baked them a few extra minutes. They turned out great and had a great flavor. I will be making these again.

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly and it turned out really good. I was impressed, but my husband and I thought it was too sweet. The only thing I would change is to add a little less sugar, I might only add 2 teaspoons next time and see how that works.

Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This was so good, we absolutely loved it! Even my picky nine year old liked it and my one year old kept saying mmmm every time he took a bite. My husband said this morning it was so good that he dreamt about it. We can't wait to make this again. I didn't change much but added asiago cheese instead of romano and only one tablespoon of butter. I roasted my own peppers, I believe that is definitely better than the kind in the jar. I tossed this sauce with some linguine. So good!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This was very good. I only made half a portion. I didn't add meat to my sauce, because I don't like meat. I doubled the cheese mixture and added some cottage cheese (I have never used cottage cheese in my lasagna, because it didn't sound good, but it was very good actually). I loaded the top with mozzarella and I also used asaigo. My very picky daughter even liked this, along with my husband and my one year old. I am definitely making it again this same way.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
This is such a great recipe. It is exactly what I was looking for. I cut the recipe in half, because I am the only one in the house who likes cornbread. I baked it in a cast iron pan for about 45 minutes.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
This was really good, and I am a hot chocolate lover. My 8 year old daughter said it was delicious. I cut the sugar to half too. I also added in some bittersweet chocolate chips with the cocoa.

Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
These were good, but I didn't think they were that great. I have had better. I didn't care for the crispier texture, it may be the shortening or the sugars. It may just be my preference in how I like my cookies. I don't think I would make these again.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
These were so good. I did make some changes to suit my tastes. I am a vegetarian, so I didn't add the chicken. I did double the veggies and the cheese and used cheddar and a fiesta cheese blend. I made some with flour tortillas and some with corn. I think I liked the corn a little better. They had more crunch, but they were both good. I didn't freeze them, and it didn't seem to matter. I baked them at 450 for about 15 minutes. I will definetly make them again. I felt they needed a dipping sauce and used what I had on hand, ranch dressing with a little taco seasoning mixed in. It was pretty good. Maybe next time I will try the avocado dip or the cilantro dip others mentioned.

Black Bean Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
These are really good. I have been making these alot. I like hard taco shells better, so I use those instead of soft. I also use the diced tomatoes with chiles. This is great for vegetarians. Even my husband who loves meat will eat this.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
These were so good. I took other reviewers advice and used brown sugar for the crumb topping, it was really good. Next time I will add more blueberries and maybe double the batter recipe.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
These cookies were so good. My husband and daughter loved them too. Just the kind of cookie I was looking for. I also followed advice of other reviews and added half a cup more flour and 1/2 tsp. more baking soda. They were the perfect texture, not thin at all. I also added 1 cup more of chocolate chips because we love chocolate and I didn't think 1 cup was enough. I will definetly make these again. They are still soft the day after too.

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
I loved this recipe. I just made a grilled cheese sandwich with it and it was delicious. This was exactly what I was looking for. It was kind of sweet from the honey. I like that there is no sugar or white flour in it. I made this exactly according to the recipe, but I added some ground flax seed last. I listened to some reviews and set it on light and 1 1/2 lb. It turned out perfect.

Bread Machine Pumpernickel Bread

Reviewed: May 30, 2007
This is a great pumpernickel bread recipe. It turns out perfect. I follow the recipe exactly, except I don't add caraway seed because I don't like them, and vital wheat gluten, because I never have any on hand.

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
This is a great salad. The noodles are not meant to be cooked, but it really depends on your own preference. I like them crunchy. The only thing I do differently is to use toasted almonds instead of peanuts and rainbow salad, because it has cauliflower added to the mix.

Genoise

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
I have never made this cake before or even heard of it, so I really don't have anything to compare it to. It tastes good, but it is kind of flat. I followed the directions exactly. I am still going to try to use it to make petit fours. Hopefully they turn out ok with this cake. I think I will use a different cake recipe next time.

Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
These were really good. I wouldn't change a thing. My picky seven year old loved them too. After they baked, I covered some with mozzarella and broiled them till the cheese melted with a little red pepper flakes sprinkled on top.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
This banana bread was so good. I only had 2 1/2 bananas and was still enough banana taste for me. I added about 1 tsp. vanilla and some pecans. I also made it in a bundt pan. I will definetly make this again.

Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
This dressing is very good. I am happy to see there is no sugar needed to give it a good taste. My husband even liked it, which surprised me. I am happy to have found a healthy dressing, which is easy to make. I did use regular balsamic vinegar

Insanely Easy Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
We love this recipe. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. I used a can of crushed tomatoes instead of the whole tomatoes. It turned out great. It's the first time I made chili and my boyfried who likes meat, loves it and told me it's perfect, and not to change a thing.
