About this Cook
I come from a long line of people who are interested in food (on both sides of the family). My grandparents and parents are all excellent cooks. My father was a Chef in the Marine Corps and has awesome stories to tell about his experience with that. My husband and I enjoy cooking together and cooking for others. Seeing the joy on someone's face after cooking a meal for them is as good as giving any present. :-)
My favorite things to cook
My husband and I love making my family's pasta and meatball recipe (it's a secret family recipe - so you won't find it here!). We do pasta, meatballs (with sausage and potatoes in the sauce) accompanied by baked eggplant parmesan, a nice Italian salad and warm crusty Italian bread. We've made this meal most recently for our anniversary part and my husband's birthday party (about 20-30 people at a time). It's always a crowd pleaser.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking tradition is definitely holiday meals. Both sides of my family cook awesome holiday food. I very much look forward to it every year.
My cooking triumphs
Every time I cook a big meal and have the kitchen cleaned by the time the meal is ready - it's a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm, frying chicken breast. I can never get the breading to stick. I'm sure the oil just isn't hot enough, but I'll probably get the hang of it eventually.

Arkansas Sin
This is a great recipe when you're in a hurry. I would suggest skipping out on the bread bowl. The recipe really makes too much to put in the bread bowl and it'such a mess. Use a stiff cracker also (like a triscuit). I've taken this dip to two parties and it's gotten rave reviews.

Mushroom Pork Chops
Delicious. We served this will brown rice and buttered broccoli. When I make this nest time I will add more soup. Also, I used half of a large white onion and generously seasones the chops. Mmmmm....

Cheesy Potato Salad
This recipe is awesome. I too left out the sugar. It just doesn't need it. This salad tastes like a loaded baked potato and is a fraction of the mess. We had it with burgers tonight; my family gave the salad 2 thumbs up.
