Boiled Bagels

Ummm...I'd say they're only decent. Perhaps because I'm a Montreal girl, and well, Montreal bagels are actually fabulous, I was disappointed with the outcome. Not what I was expecting. They were strangely bready in the center. Not bad, but not great. I'll stick with my local bagel shop in the future. Unfortunately.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

This bread is DELICIOUS. Made it by hand, as other reviewers have done. Didn't need quite as much flour as was written. Started with a cup of each and added (alternating between white and whole wheat) as I kneaded. I also used 1/2 cup of flax seeds which I ground in my coffee grinder, and toasted 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds, and 1/4 of pumpkin seeds before adding them to the dough. AMAZING.

Southwestern Pasta Salad

Quite good :) I used parsley instead of cilantro, added some chopped green onion, and some tofu - cubed, dredged in flour, chili powder, cumin, and oregano, and sauteed in a small amount of olive oil. A good meal in and of itself.

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Delicious! Used 1 cup whole wheat flour and 2 cups all purpose. Also chopped up a premium dark chocolate bar rather than chocolate chips. Used 1/4 cup canola oil and 3/4 cup applesauce. Very good!!

Easy Pineapple Cake

Pretty good! I didn't make the frosting...instead I made a glaze out of 3/4 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and a tbsp of skim milk. Spread the glaze on the warm cake and sprinkled 1/3 cup of shredded coconut on top of the glaze. Next time I'll use whole wheat flour, just wasn't sure if it'd be too dense, seems that it'd be fine though.

Let's be honest - who needs 120 servings of salad dressing? Nevertheless, once the serving size was adjusted, the result was great! Very nice, zippy dressing.

Perfect Sushi Rice

Very good! I had to add some extra water near the end of the cooking time, as the amount called for in the recipe was basically all absorbed, but the rice was not yet cooked through. Other than that. it was delicious. Sticky and made great sushi rolls. Will use this recipe again.

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

I've never tried this recipe, but I'm giving LEMONY'S review 5-stars for being HILARIOUS. Love the wit. UPDATE: Just tried it, and it's GREAT. Used 1/3 cup of applesauce and one mashed banana. Also used all whole wheat flour and added the zest of one lemon. They were healthy and delicious. Makes you wonder why people are still using high-fat recipes when the ones with significantly less fat taste (debatably) better. I love finding new, healthy, and VERY delicious recipes. Thank you for posting!

Irresistible Double Chocolate Muffins

OMG, these are FANTASTIC. I can't believe that they are full of whole wheat and hidden pumpkin. They are out of control delicious. UPDATE: Made them again last night, using bran instead of the wheat germ and they were just as delicious. These are hands-down my new favourite "healthy" muffins.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

I made this yesterday for my brother's birthday and it was amazing! I used mint chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet, which was a fabulous decision. Like others, I also used the satiny chocolate glaze recipe from the site - and again used the mint chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet and it was an unbelievable combination. Do it. You won't be sorry.
