37, stay at home mom. Boy and girl, 13 and 7. Awesome husband of almost 15 years. Busy guy with a job that has him all over New England. We moved here to RI from the comfortable life we had in Ohio in 2004. Miss home but have settled in here rather well. Never tire of the beach and now we can go more than once a year! Wish it wasn't so expensive to live here though. I live my life for my family now but dream of going to school and having personal accomplishments one day. It will happen. Am blessed with a great family and my sister and her husband have moved here too!
My favorite things to cook
I don't like to cook. It is my biggest chore as a stay at home mom. My husband works crazy, varied hours so we can never sit down to dinner at a regular time. No one seems to enjoy the same dishes either. I manage to throw something together though. I have a handful of hits that I do make.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma made the best stuffed peppers. I miss them and her even more. Also a cucumber dish with the vinegar and sugar. Yum! I can make those. My other grandmother makes the worlds best red cake! Haven't had it in too long!
My cooking triumphs
My family all can agree on just a few meals;
taco salad/ tacos and all the fixings~
stuffed shells~
meat loaf and mashed potatoes~
chicken enchaladis sp?~
great sugar cookies from a recipe on this site!
My cooking tragedies
too many to name!
I tried a seafood enchaladis dish off this site that was horrible! Went right into the trash! Had sour cream and it curdled. My husband was fond of the dish Cancun at Chi Chi's Mexican Restaurant. They have closed so I tried to replicate it. Was my worst meal ever and not cheap to throw that fresh seafood out!
