About this Cook
I am a stay-at-home mom and wife. I have three kids ages 5,3,6 months. My husband is a Youth Director and we both love to cook.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things have to be comfort food and baking, and of course whatever my family loves to eat. It is so much more satisfing to cook for an appreciative crowd.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't have many. My mom is a good cook but most of what she cooked when I was growing up was make-it-up-as-you-go dinners. She made a lot of stir fry.
My cooking triumphs
Not many. My family has a couple favorites but they aren't very creative. DH likes to cook too so he is really hard to please.
My cooking tragedies
At least one a week. I like to try new things and I usually like it ok but DH usually says its "foul". He is such a critic.

Thanksgiving Day Creamed Turnips
Turnips are not my favorite vegetable but this is a really good dish. I made it just as the recipe stated but tripled for my big family. The kids even ate it without complaint.

Irish Pumpkin Potage
This is awesome soup. I added 1 tsp kosher salt and I also precooked the pumpkin. I used the chicken broth as the liquid and omitted the milk. One thing I would personally change is that I used the whole leeks and the soup turned green from the tops. Tastes great but looks like Pea soup instead of pumpkin.

Apple, Carrot, Or Zucchini Cake
This is very good. I used half zucchini and half apples and it was scarfed down in no time flat. This is a great way to use the veggies you have from the garden. It is a wonderful fall cake that is simple and tastes great!
