Just me
About this Cook
I work all day at a "real" job and work all night at my own business. I like good food, but I try to stick to things that require few dishes and not too much time to make. By the time I stop to eat I'm usually starving. Anyone who knows me is always shocked the first time they try anything I prepared because they don't expect a girl that rides and fixes motorbikes to be able to cook anyting past burnt Kraft Dinner haha! I invent or customize a lot of things to my taste.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood, pasta and veggies. In Summer its' BBQ season-no pots and pans to wash and I like to play outside!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mums sweet and sour pork. In general my Mother is a great cook :-) I didn't get interested in cooking anything nice til years aftr I left home (it was sissy LOL) so I'm 90% self taught, shoulda paid attention back then though now I have to phone her :-P
My cooking triumphs
Just seeing people's suprise when they taste things I've made. I can tell they're expecting it to be so-so to awful cause I'm SO not domesticated.
My cooking tragedies
Not many. I did make cookies and forget the flour when I was a kid, making a "cookie soup", but it was funny. Poured it back in the mixing bowl, added the flour, spooned it back on the baking sheet and they were just chocolate cookies. If a bad meal is a tragedy in your life you've been damn lucky!

Haddock Au Gratin
I loved this...thank you very much for posting it. I'll be adding it into my "regulars", maybe with crab or shrimp on top yum yum :-)

Beef Sirloin Tip Roast
Quick and good-that always scores big with me. I also have a hard time seasoning meat as I'm not a big meat eater (DH is though). I am not a gravy fan either but loved this one...as did my man and our guest. We had it the next day as hot open faced sandwiches and we liked it even more. Thanks for sharing this will be a regular for me.

Pork Chops and Scalloped Potatoes
The meat and potatoes cooked well together but I just didn't find it very tasty, too bland for me and the gravy/sauce too thin. The Old Man liked it fine. A good base though for sure.....next time I'll customize it.
