Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Oh MY GOSH!! This is sooo good! I have had this recipes printed for over a year because of all the reviews, but never had time to make it! So, I had pumpkins, and made it this morning! WOW! I used 2 1/2 cups fresh pumpkin, and I forgot to drain it, but it was perfect. I just ate a whole mini- loaf myself! It doesn't need any butter or cream cheese on top- it is perfectly moist and flavorful! All I can say is WOW!

Butter Cream Frosting II

I really like this. Usually I use Ricks buttercream frosing recipe on this site- but I did not have whipping cream, so I used this one! Very good. I used 1 cup butter instead of the shortening and marg. I also added 1 tsp salt. Not artificial tasting!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

I really like this recipe and have made it a few times. I add grated parmesan or asiago cheese to the dough, along with garlic powder, and rosemary. It makes the house smell so good while rising. I like to press it into the bottom of my perforated pizza pan and brush with olive oil, then bake till very light golden. We roast sliced tomatoes brushed with olive oil and basil, put them on the crust, top with roasted chicken, and top wtih ALOT of mozzarella! The kids and everyone else loves this pizza!! Thank YOu!!

Monster Cookies V

I love these cookies!! I did make a couple of changes though. I only had 2 cups of peanut butter, so I added and extra 1/2 cup butter. I added 1 1/4 cups flour and 1 tsp salt. I did not have any peanuts, so I left them out. I put them on the cookie sheet in large scoops (ice cream scoop size) and baked them about 11 minutes. They were very good and soft and light! Thanks for the recipe! ps the dough was so good!!!

Carrot Cake III

I made this exactly as the recipe said- But I kindof forgot about it in the oven and it was in there for about an hour, so the outside was kindof hard. But the inside was good, moist. I havent ever tried carrot cake before, and it was great. I like sweet frosting, and the frosing was so good, I ate about a 1/2 cup before my husband started teasing me. (I'm pregnant with our 4th child and love frosting!) Anyway, it did not taste oily at all to me. I did beat the frosting for a good 5 minutes in my mixer. Very good!

Ultimate Sugar Cookies

I used regular butter instead of the shortening, and I just put the dough in the fridge to chill. I also added 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice to the dough(cinnamon, nutmeg, ect.) I had to review now, though, because I could NOT stop eating the dough!!! (Maybe its cause Im preggo :) I ate at least 5 BIG spoonfuls. I will update once I actually bake them....

Angel Chicken Pasta

My husband and I thought this was good, but not great. As per other reviewers (and myself after trying the sauce in the pan) disliking the salt, I diluted the sauce by adding 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup broth and adding some cornstarch to thicken. I thought it was good though, but maybe thats because I drank the rest of the bottle of wine!!! :) My husband thought I should not have diluted it, as he is older and likes more flavor.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Maybe its because I've never tried eggplant before, and in this recipe I thought it was icky, but I really didn't like it. We ended up fishing the eggplant out and throwing it away, and using the sauce for noodles the next day.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

These were very good- not too hot, but had just the right amount of spice. I will use boneless chix breast next time- then I wont have to try to eat them off the bone, and my family can scarf them faster!

Wow! I haven't ever been able to make frosting good before, but this is so good! I also used 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening. Perfect! updated 6/29- This also works great to freeze. Just thaw and stir, and if you love frosting, plop some in a bowl and eat it plain! YUM

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

This is sooooo good! I didn't have sour cream, so I used 1 cup heavy whipping cream and 1 tablespoon vinegar, and it turned out great! I actually hate chocolate cake but this was wonderful. it left streaks on my plate because it was so moist. The cooking time listed is the perfect amount of time to get the cake done. 5 stars!

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

I also made this for easter, and everyone asked me for the recipie. I did add an extra 1/2 cup of sugar, to up the sweetness, and it was great! Next time, I think I will put even more sugar in, and cut the onion down by half.

American Lasagna

I made this last night and normally my lasagna tasted like dry wood, but this was sooooo gooooood! I took other reviewer's advice and added 2 cans of tomato sauce. It was moist without being too runny. Awesome!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

The cookies were O.K. I don't understand where I went wrong...they came out all flat. I measured exact amounts, and they tasted great, but they were flat. I made some underbaked, and some a bit overdone (11 minutes) and the overdone ones were better.
