About this Cook
I am a firefighter in Atlanta, though I live out in the country of NW Georgia in the mountains. My husband is a firefighter as well and we have one son who is 10 yrs old. My son and I love to cook and we spend many evenings together destroying the kitchen in pursuit of culinary masterpieces-- Sometimes we even suceed!! I am a recent convert to cooking and still have a lot to learn. I love to try new things, but sometimes we are limited by the lack of ingredients that we can come by out in the sticks. We live on a 21 acre farm with 4 horses, 3 dogs and 2 chickens.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, chocolate in particular, are my favorites to play around with. Of course, they are the worst because I end up having to do alot of taste testing along the way. I also love making full, huge meals complete with appitizers and dessert. I am game to try anything!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking big warm comfort food meals. I grew up on meat and potatoes with gravy veggies and biscuits/rolls and cakes and puddings for dessert. We also LOVE anything that has cheese in it, on it, or associated with it!!
My cooking triumphs
I pulled off a huge Italian meal, complete with homemade salad dressings, homemade marinara and alfredo sauces, lasagna, baked ziti, homemade breadstick and little cheesecake parfaits for dessert. Now if I can just figure out how to make good old southern butter milk biscuits.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked on my own after highschool I wanted to make a healthy meal. I was going to bake a chicken breast and have broccoli and salad on the side. I had been warned to make sure I cooked the chicken thoroughly. After about an hour at 400 the dehydrated chicken breast bricket was most definately done!!!

Armadillo Eggs
Very Yummy. My son and I had a great time putting these together. My hubby and he ate almost all of them. We only made a 1/2 batch as there are only 3 of us but they dissappeared. I'm a whimp when it comes to spice but I ate one and thought the flavor was good. I cut the jalapenos in half and found them much easier to handle. Thanks for a fun and unusual recipie!
