About this Cook
As the stay at home wife of a resident with 2 young kids, I have to make stuff that is quick, cheap, and good. Thankfully, I grew up in a home with a mom who cooked everything from scratch, and I picked up a lot of tips and methods from her. There are some duds, but I am mostly pretty happy with the way a meal comes out.
My favorite things to cook
I love the fried food. Chicken, fish, beef, veggies--fried is my friend.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom would make a huge family dinner for all of us and our grands every Sunday. I try to keep that tradition alive. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing that my mom and dad like the food that I make for them.
My cooking triumphs
Getting my very, very picky 2 year old to eat. That is a miracle.
My cooking tragedies
Oh man...a whole meal burnt. Everything. The rolls, the hot sides, the meat. It was my first big, big meal as a married person. We were living in Brooklyn, I was attending university on the upper west side, and I was pregnant. Everything was toast; it was sad. But I was so tired and nauseous, I really didn't care.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares
I've used this as the recipe states and with homemade pizza dough (I popped it in the oven, but it tastes better after it is chilled) and on store bought crusts. Note: when making it with dough, I did add some mozzerella. Awesome any way you make it!

Roast Chicken with Rosemary
this is the easiest and best! the only thing i added to the recipe is stuffing--toasted some breadcrumbs, mixed them with a little egg, salt, and pepper and stuffed the bird with the rosemary stems sticking out for an added touch. even my kids eat it, and that is saying a lot.

Soft Sugar Cookies V
a wonderful cookie--not too sweet, even with icing on top. due to dietary restrictions, i used tofutti brand non dairy sour creme and they still turned out great.
