My husband and I love to take day trips, weekend excursions, and weekly ventures in which we end up in unexpected places with little to no planning. We have the "Hobo" basics packed all year in our little car. Basics include a camera, general road map of the US, our handy cooler, tent, and other small essentials. Some weekends we just pack our clothes and hit the road. We have discovered wonderful little shops, restaurants, people, and best of all beautiful views off the beaten path. The Blue Ridge Parkway was wonderful and an easy way to start if your interested. I took nearly 600 picts one week and saw beautiful vistas, wonderful towns, and interesting people.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with olive oil, olives, tomatoes, mozzarella, wine, chicken, turkey, steak, shrimp, fresh herbs and I could go on. I really like the notion of cooking with simple flavors that build on one another into a wonderful taste that is good for the soul and body.
My cooking triumphs
Frogmoor stew, Apple-Thanksgiving Turkey and stuffing, Fall Cinnamon Chili, Grilled Salmon, Steak, chicken.
My cooking tragedies
Desserts. It's just not my thing. I don't like to eat unhealthy desserts very often and I never practice cooking them. So, when I do it's a big mess and a little brown.
