Pumpkin Soup
About this Cook
I am a 4th grade teacher in Austin, TX. I have a wonderful husband named Bill. I also have a chocolate lab named Guinness, after my husbands favorite beer.
My favorite things to cook
My husband has helped open my eyes to try eating a variety of foods including alligator, sardines, asparagus. I ended up liking all these foods and have found that I have gained a new set of confidence in trying to create different cuisines. My husband ends up being my Guinea pig but enjoys the variety none-the-less.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young my family would make these amazing sour cream cookies for Christmas. We would spend hours decorating them with frosting, sprinkles, and bonker balls.
My cooking triumphs
After 7 tries, I finally figured out the best way to make pumpkin soup!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a rhubarb pie from scratch. Everything about it was perfect, except that my sister thought it smelled like chicken. Of course, after she announced it no one would eat it.

Wisconsin Native's Beer Cheese Soup
I make a lot of soups, but this one was the best yet! A wonderful blend of Wisconsin favorites. Didn't have dry mustard, so used the mustard you put on hotdogs and it turned out delicious. Husband raved and craved!

Patti's Mussels a la Mariniere
Get a good dipping bread b/c the flavor of the sauce is terrific. Still not sure about debearding a mussel, so be sure to ask your grocer about that. Tasted good anyways.

Spinach-Stuffed Pumpkins
Great! We used swiss cheese and mozzerella, and both worked well together.
