I'm a statistician. I'm single and love to cook. I'm also allergic to cow's milk and wheat so I can't eat any dairy. Thus I'm always looking for new recipes I can use.
My favorite things to cook
I like Italian the most(minus the cheese, of course) followed by Chinese-style cooking. Chinese cooking is good for my allergies because they don't traditionally use dairy in their cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite tradition is Christmas, where everyone comes over my place and I cook a big breakfast. Usually consisting of fresh baked bread, kielbasa, scrambled eggs (for everyone else), and some sort of fruit dish. After our stomachs are full we open our gifts. Later that day we go over my parents' house, where a huge dinner is waiting for us.
My cooking triumphs
I love baking the best. It's the hardest but I love the smell of fresh-baked bread throughout the apartment.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made pot roast I didn't allow for enough cooking time and we had to wait another hour for it to get done. Everyone was pretty hungry by then and to top it off, the pot roast was way too dry.
