Excellent! I did all my prep work the day before (sliced potatoes and made sauce) and just assembled and popped them in the oven at the proper time. I added cheddar cheese, but they really don't need it. If adding cheese again, I would reduce the amount of butter so they are less greasy. NOTE: If you slice your potatoes in advance, be sure to keep them immersed in water while storing to prevent them from turning brown. I forgot to do this and while they tasted great, they looked awful!
