I work full time as a doctor. I'm just starting to cook meals as opposed to just baking desserts and cakes. This has been a challenge set by my boyfriend who loves his food. It has been alot of fun learning to cook meat, vegetables, noodles, rice and pasta. I haven't burned down the kitchen yet.
I am now living in Sydney and have been married for a matter of weeks! It's been a steep learning curve - juggling my schedule and my husband's. We are still trying to stay healthy and minimize take out during the week.
My favorite things to cook
I will always love baking muffins and cakes. But I now enjoy making soups and noodle dishes.
I now really love making soups and slow cooker meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I bake all the birthday cakes in our family and make the dessert for Christmas lunch.
My cooking triumphs
A prawn and flat leaf parsley stew, a chicken and soy bean udon noodle soup, pear and chocolate crumble.
Generally my muffins and cakes are always sucessful and enjoyed.
My cooking tragedies
I once made sweet muffins with chinese 5 spice instead of mixed spice. Another time, I tried to make a dieter's dish of spinach patties in tomato sauce - the patties tasted like soap and fell apart before I could put them in the sauce.
