About this Cook
Raised by bears in Alaska, then released into the world via US Marine Corps. I pursue fine beers from around the world, and enjoy finding the perfect brew for any meal. Married to a hillbilly girl who shares a passion for guns and motorcycles, and makes the best apple pie ever. Learning to enjoy wines, but still prefer grain-based fizzy liquids.
My favorite things to cook
Simple dishes using two pans or less. Lots of veggies, with just enough meat for flavor and vigor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Halibut stew , Bierrocks, and holiday mincemeat
My cooking triumphs
Smoked Salmon chowder, makes Alaskan winters worth enduring.

Creole Fish Soup
My family used to make something very similar to this with halibut (easy to get in Alaska). I usually except the bay leaves, but they are a nice touch. This is a good, basic fish meal, that looks nice in a shallow bowl.

Brunch Casserole
I use fewer eggs and add some chicken, then mix in some frozen mixed veggies to make an easy weekend supper that everyone loves.
