About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I am an "on again off again" vegetarian and love fresh, healthy and delicious food. I enjoy italian, indian and mexican food-anything that has lots of flavor and spice to it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family cooks mainly good old british stodge! The only vegetarian thing my parents make is macaroni and chips(fries), which is a big favorite of mine and comfort food at its finest.
My cooking triumphs
I follow recipes mainly when cooking because I like to try lots of new things, so I am happy when the recipe turns out the way I want it to. My biggest triumph is probably my home made pizzas that replace delivery in our house! The Brooklyn style pizza crust on this site is the BEST! Add homemade marinara sauce, picante provelone and garlic salt and you will never miss your local pizza shop!
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at thanksgiving dinner. All the sides were ready hours before the turkey and I ended up throwing it in the trash! (the package said it would take 2 hours?)

Chicken Korma II
This is a staple in my house-it takes care of my craving for indian food without having to run down to the local take away!

Bryan's Sweet and Hot Tomato Pasta Sauce
This is very sweet, I only used 1/2 cup sugar and had to put in more tomatoes and vinegar just to make it tolerable. I would advise anyone making this recipe to start with maybe 1/4 cup sugar and work your way up from there. It tasted quite nice after I added some basil and oregano to it, and I think it would be a really nice pizza sauce, not as good for pasta though. Thank you for submitting, it is a good base recipe to use as a starting point and modify to your taste.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style
I used thawed frozen artichoke hearts because the only canned ones I found had spices and herbs in them. I loved this recipe-hubby and I made it for a movie night and ate it with french bread. It is a hundred times better than the pre-made or frozen kind and very easy to put together. Thanks for submitting!
