My favorite things to cook
I especially love to cook dishes from Spain and Puerto Rico. From Spain a good seafood and chicken Paella. My favorites from Puerto Rico are fried plantains, arroz con gandules(pigeon peas),and Flan.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On New Year's Day I always prepare black-eyed peas and corn bread. On Thanksgiving my Daughter Anna-Marie graces our dinner with her incredible pumpkin cheesecake. Just about a week before Christmas we have an all family cookie bake. Everyone has a special part no matter how young or old.
My cooking tragedies
When I was twelve my Father and I lived together as my parents were divorced. Usually Dad did all the cooking or we ate out ALOT. So I wanted to give him a great surprise and cook our Thanksgiving dinner that year. My Dad had brought home a free turkey from work. Well I did my best but it was somewhat burned on the outside, not done on the inside and I didn't know anything about removing the paper wrapped package of gizzards and livers stuffed up there. We went to Sizzler...lol
