Just remarried two and a half years ago to a sweetheart of a man (David) that LOVES TO EAT!!
Retired in November 2007. NEVER EVER did I think I would be bored not having to go to work everyday. BUT yes, it seems I'm a bit lost. Sooooo I've been cooking up a storm. I've spent the whole winter in my kitchen! But soon spring will be upon us and hubby and I will be out stirring up trouble on the Harley's once again!!
I have 2 sons Tony 39 and Kevin 37. Together they have given me 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter ages 9 to 19. I also have 2 Shih Tzu's, Sadie 7 yrs and China 1 yr.old and a himalayan kitty named Reese. And precious they all are!!
My favorite things to cook
I'm a country cook at heart "comfort foods" are what's happening at our house but willing to try almost anything. I especially love to bake. I think cookies are my specialty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Going over to Mom's house about 10 days before Christmas and making candies....Fudge, Divinity, Penuche, Peanut Brittle and Old Fashioned Marshmellows. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it now as my Mother has not been well for a couple years and we have not been able to do this. I will always miss the fun we had on that day!! Was a great time.
My cooking triumphs
My husband and I have a "LITTLE" cabin on the delta here in California and that is where I cooked our first Thanksgiving dinner together. I was really worried about it because the kitchen is so small but low and behold....it was the absolute best Thanksgiving meal I had ever prepared. Everything turned out beautifully. Goes to show, don't sweat the "small stuff"!!
My cooking tragedies
Guess I've just been "Lucky"!
