About this Cook
I am a married mom of two wonderfully rowdy and hungry boys. My husband and sons love good food and all have hearty appetites. I love to read and cook. Our family enjoys boating, knee-boarding and tubing on weekends. My husband and I are also involved with our sons' little league baseball teams in the spring and summer. When cooking for the family, I look for hearty comfort foods, which are always a big hit at our house.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pastas (especially lasagna), soups, salads, roasts and casseroles. I also really enjoy smoking meats and other foods. Nothing beats a good barbeque!!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year for every holiday, for as long as I can remember, my family has gathered for a giant potluck. Everybody brings something different to contribute to the meal. It's a great way for the family to reconnect and enjoy each other's company, not to mention a great opportunity to sample all of the different delicious dishes that everybody brought.
My cooking triumphs
I knew I was a good cook when my kids started insisting on staying home to eat instead of asking to go out and eat. Now, they put in their favorite requests regularly!
My cooking tragedies
Soupy fudge. The flavor was good - you just had to spoon it up.

Sausage Casserole
My family really enjoys this recipe. I have made it several times now. Sometimes I use the sausage and sometimes I use diced ham. I also add just a little dried mustard to the egg mix. We eat this for dinner and breakfast/brunch. It is very filling and easy to make. Thanks for sharing!

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup
This is one of our family's favorite soups. It is a great hearty soup with rich flavor and smooth creamy texture. I use extra potatoes since we like it "chunkier". I do omit the cornstarch though. I don't see the need for it - especially if using potato flakes to thicken. A family favorite!
