About this Cook
I've apparently had a knack and interest in cooking since I was in elementary school - thanks to my parents and grandparents who also possessed such and inspired me through their own cuisine choices, gourmet cooking groups, etc. I didn't choose it professionally as it was more of a hobby and I chose another profession (designer / consultant).
My favorite things to cook
Anything I can be creative cooking! I rarely follow recipes - I use them for 'inspiration' and 'suggested guidelines'. :) I don't care for baking as much. Too technical and not as much freedom.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father's career started as a chemist and he's a fantastic cook. He's fascinated with the 'chemistry' of how breads, pastas, etc. work together. One favorite family cooking tradition is he will play with that end of a meal and I'll whip up a complimentary other part (more creative). Great father-daughter time and great compliments to each other and a meal.
My cooking triumphs
Good question....anything I guess people want more of. Or ask for the recipe and I really can't give them one - don't use them many times.
My cooking tragedies
Anything creative baking related maybe. :) I applaud all pastry chefs....I'm amazed at the amount of creativity and time spent. I have no patience myself to make such masterpieces!

Eggplant Parmesan II
This was fantastic! My family and friends loved it and have passed the recipe on. My only other comments: 1.) I only needed 2 eggplant (mine were large and sliced very thin) and were still enough to almost overflow my 9x13 dish. 2.) 2 eggs is misleading - we used 5 eggs. 3.) We only used approx. 3 cups of bread crumbs. I will make this again and again. Fantastic!

Tasty Lentil Tacos
I thought these were fantastic! We felt they were like eating something between a refried bean and ground turkey as far as the consistency of the lentil. VERY good. Also, a very good option (and so healthy) if you're watching money in this economy..i.e. $4-5/lb. ground turkey or meat for this recipe vs. 75 cents for the lentils it's just a smart and delicious recipe all around to have!
