About this Cook
I took 3 years of professional cooking, and was going to school to become a world class chef, but decided on a career change after seeing the long hours and insanity that seems to occur when you run a kitchen. Now i am just a very skilled amatuer. I LOVE watching Iron Chef and anything else on food network!!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things, but seem to gravitate towards italian/greek dishes. I also enjoy making appetizers for parties
My favorite family cooking traditions
My background is Ukranian, so i love my carbs! We make home made perogies, cabbage rolls throughout the year. As well, Xmas and food go hand in hand, and my family enjoys making tons of goodies for the occasion
My cooking triumphs
my secret perogie recipe, my grandma didnt ever have this written down, it was all in her head, and she didnt ever use measurements, so when i got it from her, i had to figure out what a handful equals in real measurements *L*
My cooking tragedies
none to speak of lately, though for a long time, i couldnt make Jell-o.... i hate using measuring cups, and for that you have to!! once or twice i have made cookies and forgotten flour, or baking soda... hahaha....

Shrimp with Tomatoes and Feta Cheese
Delicious and healthy! I use low fat feta and serve it over brown rice noodles.

Byrdhouse Dream Salad Dressing
Normally the only dressing the boyfriend and I like is ranch. We were looking for something a little different this time, and we both really enjoyed it, and recipe was very easy to make!
