About this Cook
I'm a mom of two grown boys who are both US Marines. I learned most of what I know about cooking from my grandma who wasn't afraid of experimenting in the kitchen. I'm the partner of a wonderful woman who is a carpenter by trade and we've been together 10 years. We own our home and have 2 weiner dogs named Bo and Dexter, and a cat named Watson.
My favorite things to cook
I'm a baker at heart, but I love trying new recipes all the time for main dishes, salads..etc. I also love making soup and stews. I'll try anything once!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
making waffles for my sons while they're home for shorter and shorter periods of time...empty nest is hitting me hard, but I have a great life and wouldn't change a thing.
My cooking triumphs
I've heard I make the best cookies ever, also my sausage pancakes are a hit too..pretty much anything I put on the table doesn't last long in this house!
My cooking tragedies
I remember one time I tried to make buffalo chicken breasts and made a buffalo chicken wing sauce to bake them in..omg was that a mistake. you couldnt even eat it, it was so disgusting in large bites..lol actually, it was disgusting no matter what size the bite was..lol

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
I made this for tonights dinner and I have to tell you this is the absolute BEST potato soup we've ever had! I didn't make one change, everything is perfect and it's a delicious, hearty, creamy soup. PERFECTION!!!

The Most Delicious Green Beans
I made these for Thanksgiving and used fresh green beans. Everyone loved it, I used roasted almond slices too, I think next time I'll try walnuts. I will most likely make these again, they were a nice alternative to the usual green bean casserole.

Deluxe Mashed Potatoes
I made these for Thanksgiving and put them in the fridge overnight like suggested. We were all excited to taste them and were very disappointed. They were bland at best and nothing special. I didn't want to waste them, so we made potato pancakes and in that form, they were way better. I won't be making these again....
