About this Cook
Is the way to a man's heart actually through his stomach?? Hello, My name is Megan, I work in Creative Direction of film. The loves of my life are my dog Madison, my cat Princess, and my fish Sebastian. I adore outdoor sports, and animals. I have recently moved to Mansfield ON from Toronto ON, and I have to say that living in the country is a big change from living in a metropolitan city...the weather is very different, and there are different things to learn, and to be aware of. From the humor of cleaning my satellite to stay online, to the many tears of frustration, lol...I think I've seen it all! However...now that I've adapted, I am really loving it! I will soon be able to have a proper vegetable garden!! I have always been vegetarian (born and raised) and I will finally be able to grow my own vegetables and eat organically! I just can't wait to bridge the gap between my love of gardening and outdoor life, with my love of cooking! Wish me luck....
My favorite things to cook
I most enjoy cooking international, exotic theme meals. I love infused meals (Vegetarian of course) that mix a touch of gourmet with a touch of contemporary modernism, or combining the unexpected. ie:Asian/Perisain. I love to offer a soup, salad, main course and dessert. I feel that presentation, and appropriate dishware is just as important as the meal itself. Accents such as edible flowers look great on cold soups, and in salads..not just desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ahh The Bonfire:mmm Grilled cheese- Roasted Chestnuts- The perfect marshmallow- Smores- The entire Dutch Oven Guide... (:
My cooking triumphs
The Perfect Japanese meal.... The first time I made Miso soup, a beautiful Sushi board and Vegetable Tempura...with all of the proper dishware and beverages..I was very proud of myself that day!! I was trying to impress a special someone..and get to use my new dishware...lol
My cooking tragedies
I enjoy making desserts, especially cakes and my favorite "Crème Brule"...well, who knew sugar would burn so quickly..and that fire alarms won't stop ringing even if you hit them with a broom.. (: lol ha ha I swear it only happens when you are trying to be impressive or romantic..lol
