Teacher/Librarian, mom, food freak :) To hear my mom tell it, I've been cooking since I could stand up! It's always been something I enjoyed but never thought it was a significant talent until my son pursued cooking school, and showed me how much I know! Love to learn more and more everyday. Ethnic foods are by far my favorites...from any place, with any ingredients....no restrictions! I grew up learning Mexican family traditions, and Italian cooking secrets from the community I lived in....could not have been luckier. After a few years abroad, I feel like I've got a good base into Western cooking. Eastern? Still working on that! Food is the center of every celebration! We love to try new things for holidays, and probably the most successful was a Texas style "cook-out" one year for Christmas. Imagine...a brisket grilling on Christmas day in northern Wisconsin! :) Am still working on duplicating lots of my husband's favorites. His mom was from Mississippi, and I've got a lot to learn about Southern cuisine. Teaching my Mississippi-boy husband to enjoy Latino cuisine. OY...where do I start! I've messed up everything at least once :)
