I have been cooking for a long time. I love to cook with the granddaughter and she loves it just as much. After three boys that are just starting to take a interest in cooking she is a joy. I am from the south so smoking meats and jerky are my expertise.
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of meat if it is me cooking. If it is for a meal i love to branch out and try new things from all catagories. If it is cooking with the ganddaughter it will be in the desert line since she loves to break the eggs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmothers German Chocolate Cake. No recipe just a pinch of this and a pinch of that. She is 98 now and does not do much cooking so i try to match her cake but just havent got the right pinch yet. But i will continue to try.
My cooking triumphs
Winning first place for my smoked baby back ribs. They will make your mouth water and fall of the bone when you eat them.
My cooking tragedies
At (8) years old I made my first cake from scratch. It was a strawberry cake and the color was great. My mistake was when it called for grease i used moms beason grease she had in a can above the stove. The cake was hard as a rock and had the biggest valley in the middle of it. I have come a long way from there.
