About this Cook
Cook pretty much daily, still learning to bake. Enjoy fine-dining, and then trying to re-create the dishes at home. Otherwise, find I can cook it better at home than eat it at an average restaurant. Although, MacDonalds and pizza have their place once in a while. Love having all 3 kids (8,4,2) help me in the kitchen. I find they try all kinds of different foods that way. Always have Sunday breakfast and dinner together as a family.
My favorite things to cook
Anything stir-fry, anything grilled
My favorite family cooking traditions
Husband's Sunday morning pancakes; Grilling in the summer; Creating an Easter basket with food to eat Easter morning; Christmas Eve dinner; Small but fancy dessert after dinner, insisted upon by my French dad during my childhood
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving dinner, which never involves turkey, but always gets everyone to come over; Mastering the old Polish dishes I grew up eating! Finally mastering homemade soup, which I think might be a good way to judge an average cook from a good cook.
My cooking tragedies
So far so good, although I do have some trouble over-cooking fish.

Barbeque Chicken
This was very good, but honestly, not all that different than the flavor from a quality store-bought bbq sauce. The consistency was just thinner, which actually I preferred for marinating and basting. Loved it with the thigh meat.

Mom's Zucchini Bread
Might as well double the recipe and make 4 loaves right off the bat, because this will go quick. We have 5 in our family, and both loaves were gone in a day! Esp. yummy when slices are reheated in the toaster oven for a few minutes. For those who are unsure, 2 cups grated zucchini equals about 2 medium zucchini.

Snow Peas with Water Chestnuts
Sorry but I didn't care much for this one. I think too much sesame flavor. I did like the mint, though.
