About this Cook
I am a busy mother of 3. My kids range in age from 4 to 7. I have been married for nine years to a wonderful man. I am in college pursuing a degree in nursing. My father and teenage sister also live with me and my husband. People wonder how I can handle that many people in my household but I can't imagine not having all of them. I am blessed. My family is the most important thing to me. Nothing makes me happier than to see my family enjoying the food I have prepared for them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family goes all out for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. We also have an appetizer dinner on Christmas Eve. My father makes the BEST chicken and dressing. I have helped to make it a few times, but because he is a "pinch of this and that" kind of cook, and I am a strict measurer when trying something the first time, I have yet to make it on my own. My mom rules with her macaroni and cheese casserole and standing rib roast with homemade gravy. YUM! It is my job to make the baby lima beans that my family loves so well. They aren't healthy but they are so good.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say that preparing all of the sweet treats for our annual halloween party by myself was stressful, but it was also the best feeling when the little ones saw all the treats. It was like living in candyland for a day. I made sugar cookie ghosts and pumpkins decorated with colored icing. I also made graveyard, spider, and one eyed monster cupcakes. I made finger cookies, eyeball cookies, and wizard wands. I just wish I would not have waited until the last minute to do the baking and decorating! I also decorated my first gingerbread house and tree this year. Both were straight from boxes already baked and cut- I am not that good yet. That was the most fun I have had in a while.
My cooking tragedies
I am sure I have had quite a few. I just don't remember them. I like to block out all the bad. LOL! I am sure if a family member were reading this over my shoulder that they would remind me!

BAKER'S ONE BOWL Brownies
I love this recipe. I almost always have the ingredients on hand. Thanks for the recipe! This is real similar to the one my family had lost over a decade ago. Glad to have this in the rotation.

Baked Basil Fries
These were VERY bland to me. They tasted like a plain baked potato with too much basil. It definately needed more seasoning. I also could not taste the cheese.
