White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
This was fantastic. I made a few alterations based on other reviewers suggestions and our personal tastes. I used salsa verde instead of tomatillos, used tomatoes with diced green chiles, added extra cumin and about 1 tbsp chili powder, used steamed frozen corn, added a finely diced jalapeno and a finely diced cherry pepper (we like things spicy!) and an additional can of beans. Next time I will use black beans instead of another can of white beans for more color. I've had to give this recipe to everyone for whom I have served it. Fantastic!

Awesome Spicy Beef Kabobs OR Haitian Voodoo Sticks

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
Excellent recipe! I did add a little lemon juice to help tenderize the meat since I was using a cheaper cut of beef and only had time to marinate for about an hour and a half, but these were a hit. I have already received a request to make them again. Thanks for sharing!

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
I get requests for this appetizer nearly every weekend during football season. It's fantastic. The only modifications I have made are to sprinkle some basil, oregano and thyme on the dough before adding the fillings and to gently baste it with olive oil after rolling but before baking.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

I had to modify this recipe a little based on what I had on hand, but not enough to really change the flavor. My husband and I both loved it. A keeper.

Indian Fish Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
This had great flavor, but boy was it HOT. My husband and I are huge fans of spicy food, but this was almost too much for us. Next time I make this I will cut the cayenne a little. Otherwise a fantastic recipe! Thanks for sharing

Grill Master Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
These were good, but after all the rave reviews, I was expecting a bigger flavor. Everyone enjoyed them and they're great for a large crowd when there may be some who don't like the spice that I like on my wings.

Spicy Salmon with Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
I really enjoyed the combination of sweet and spicy in this dish. I used it on Haddock because that was what I had available, sliced a whole yellow onion instead of dicing it, used smoked paprika in the paste and marinated the fish for over an hour. I served this with a steamed corn, asparagus and carrot medley. It was great. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for the recipe. I am going to try it on ribs this weekend.

Kalbi (Marinated Beef Short Ribs)

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
I give this only 4 stars because I did not make the recipe as directed. I used boneless short ribs. I ran out of soy so I had to use some teriyaki and also used a gourmet bloody mary mix when I ran out of teriyaki. I didn't have any sesame seeds so I omitted them as well. Instead of grilling, I broiled the ribs for 7 minutes per side and then sliced them into medallions. They were so tender and flavorful and were a huge success at my party. This marinade recipe is definitely a keeper.

I used my mom's cheesecake recipe with the strawberry/blueberry decoration on top and it was a hit at my in-law's 4th of July party. Thanks for the creative idea.

Curried Rice Pilaf

Fantastic! I made a few modifications. I omitted the raisins and used jasmine rice (that was all I had on hand) which lessened the cooking time. This is my hubby's favorite side dish. Thanks for sharing!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
I followed another reviewer's recommendation and slow cooked the chicken breasts for about 6 hours in chicken broth and onions. Then I drained and shredded the chicken and added a bottle of Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce and cooked on low for another hour or two. This turned out great! I also used the leftovers to make quesadillas the next night with cheddar, green onions and cilantro. Will make again.

Ranch Burgers

I followed the recommendation of others and doubled the amount of ranch dressing mix. It made it a bit salty for our taste but very flavorful. I will try this again per the recipe.

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade

Very tender. The soy was a bit overpowering for the hubby's and my taste. Next time will use half the amount of soy and substitute the other half with worcestershire. Thanks for the recipe!

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
This was an excellent twist on salsa. I used 2 avocados instead of one and substituted 2 tsp of lime juice and 1 tsp lemon juice for the lemon juice. I also substituted cilantro instead of oregano and parsley. Thanks for sharing! I have already passed this recipe on to two others (giving credit to allrecipes.com, of course).
