My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian! Pretty desserts!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey stuffing; Dump Cake; Pumpkin Cake; St. Patrick's Day Feast
My cooking triumphs
Italian Meatloaf; Mexicali Stuffed Peppers; Hubby's Favorite Pork Chops
My cooking tragedies
Lasagna with bechamel and marinara sauce. Spent hours on this dish because it sounded so wonderful and ended up very disappointed with the blandness. Preferred my own recipe which doesn't require all the labor intensity this recipe had.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna
Love Love Love this recipe. It is a bit labor intensive but soooo worth it! I followed other recommendations: Used 1/2 bag fresh spinach (stems trimmed; chopped; not cooked); added crumbled bacon; added diced zucchini; used oven ready lasagna noodles; made 1 1/2 times the sauce. I made this the first time for my son's birthday 2 weeks ago and it was a big hit with everyone.

Smothered Beef Short Ribs
Great recipe! I followed others' advice increasing the simmer time to 3 hours and reducing the amount of beef broth. Excellent over mashed potatoes!

Corned Beef and Cabbage II
I love this recipe! Never tried baked corned beef before. Made it last year for a St. Patty's Day Dinner and everyone was wowed! Much better than boiling it! I really liked the cabbage too. Adding the apple to the cabbage gave it a very rich flavor. This will definitely be a tradition at our house. Thanks for sharing it.
