About this Cook
I am a mother of 4 and grew up in a small town in a large family. I learned to cook at the age of 10 watching my grandmother. I have always just had a touch to it. I remember making my very first pie crust from scratch adding fresh fruit from my uncles orchard. I spent hours preparing this special pie. I took it to my grandmother's house and served it up for dessert at our family get together. Everyone raved and couldnt believe I mads it all by myself. ;)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I love making breads and desserts. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking for a family and cooking entirley from scratch. Homemade mashed potato's, they cant be beat.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to decorate my homemade cakes, this took me awhile. ;)
My cooking tragedies
taking a lemon custard pie to a family dinner and it ran all over the place.. The crust was beautiful, but the filling just didnt set. (BLUSH)

Banana Banana Bread
Love this recipe. Have made several others and keep coming back to this one. I enjoy the heavy texture and taste of the extra banana. I did make small alterations like nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, allspice, and vanilla. To half the batter I added chocolate chips. I made 4 small loafs. I also made a brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon topping. YUMMY. EVERYONE raved. Thank you so much for sharing.

Mexican Mole Sauce
My Husband like this a lot, as well as my kids. It was a tad bit sweet for me, but I know that is what mole is all about. EASY though and quite good for the time.

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting
I made this to top a basic chocolate cake, need something quick.. Family dinner last minute thing. This was quick and very tastey. Everyone at our family dinner raved about the taste. I also toped it slightly with powdersugar,(just shofted it over the top) Then took some very high quailty dark chocolate, shaved it and added that as well (and as another review suggested added a small amount of strong coffee.) This did add to the chocolate tangy taste! Thank you for sharing. This is a chocolate frosting keeper, for sure. :)
