About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom of two wonderful children (4 1/2 yr. old son, 2 1/2 yr. old daughter). I love to cook and am always looking for new recipes to try. I am looking forward to the years ahead of me, both for watching my children grow and learn, but also myself. I hope to earn my Masters in Economics in the few years.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, cookies, anything yummy and sweet. I also like to make new dishes and anything that my picky son will eat. I especially like recipes that are quick and easy that get me in and out of the kitchen so I have more time to spend with my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young, my sisters and I would help my mom bake and decorate christmas cookies. Now I've started that tradition with my own children. Last christmas my 3 year old cut out and decorated the cookies. This Christmas will be even better because I will have two little helpers.
My cooking triumphs
I don't like cheesecake, but my husband and son love it. So for their Christmas desert I made them a New York style cheesecake and it was a hit. My husband said that it tasted just like the kind he would get in a restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
My first Asian inspired meal I tried to cook after I married was a disaster that we still laugh about to this day over 6 year later. It was so bad we left the meal on the table to go to our favorite Asian restaurant.

Light COOL 'N EASY Pie
This is so yummy!! Use sugar free jello and light or fat free cool whip so it's not so bad. Very good. Everyone loved. Will be making again soon.

Minestrone Macaroni
I really love this dish. I make it without the kidney beans and then sprinkle garlic powder and onion salt over the top. YUMMY!!!! My kids like it because they can pick out what they don't like (one likes green beans the other likes the garbonzo beans). I like it because it's very easy. Usually serve with a bowl of fruit and garlic bread.

Fresh Cherry Crisp
This was my first attempt of baking with fresh cherries, and it was wonderful! I cut the recipe in half since there were only 2 adult and 2 children eating it. I used 2 1/2 c. cherries and added a tsp. of cinnamon to the topping. Very good! I think next time I will add even more cherries. This recipe is a keeper. Thank you!!
