I am a Truck driver home daily and live on 7 acres with my Wife and one son . 2 of my grandkids live on the farm with their dad . My other 2 grandkids live in town. I love to cook and have been cooking for about 30 years . My Mom and Dad owned and ran 3 bakeries when I was a child . Thats where I learned to enjoy cooking . I am never afraid to try anything new in the recipe department . I also have a few things that I have picked up from my mom over the years. Our favorite method of cooking is southern .
My favorite things to cook
My most favorite thing to cook is a dish that we have always called The Lazy Mans Enchlidas. But I enjoy making pies and my favorite is Pecan.I also enjoy cooking Polk Salad.Umm! Just had some yesterday 4/30/2006. I like to experiment with my taste buds and most generaly everyone else likes it when I do.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have 5 brothers and 1 sister and they all are great cooks . So anytime we get together it a wonderful experience . Everyone has their favorites and we all require them to bring them . Especialy my mom who makes the best pan of Lazy Mans Enchlidas . We get together for Birthdays and Holidays Or when we can all get together because we all live in different parts of the country . But most in Arkansas.
My cooking triumphs
I have been learning to cook asian foods from the All Recipies Page and am learning to add my own touches to some of the recipies .I have also made a great showing in the Lazy Mans Enchlidias ."So move over Mom".Like I say My Pies are very good and I make my own pie crust . I pay attention to detail.I learned that in the army .My church also sponsors a Wild Game Feed in the spring of the year and we cook deer,elk,mountain oysters,small game and fish .Also baked beans Fried potatoes and desserts. We all get involved and the largest one we have had was feeding over 2000 people . I am the corridnator of that effort and also specialize in the baked beans and raw meat preperation and making sure that the meat is properly cooked .
My cooking tragedies
While making pecan pies . 2 of them had a big bubble in the bottom and I figured that it must be the brand of syrup I was using . There is a difference.I think that is all.I love to cook and always look for new ideas .
