About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Lumpia (Filipino Egg Rolls), my mother-in-law taught me how to make them. People beg me to make them, they are a little addicting! They are a lot of work, but you can make the recipe in bulk, and freeze them for future meals (or parties)!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Lumpia (Filipino Egg Rolls) with my family! The kids help with cleaning/prepping the bean sprouts and peeling/rolling the eggrolls. It takes a lot of effort, but everyone has fun in the process!
My cooking triumphs
Making Martha Stewart's 40 Layer Chocolate Crepe Cake! - It took my 6+ hours BUT IT WAS DELICIOUS!
My cooking tragedies
Not a real cooking tragedy - but I've got a fridge that "occasionally" likes to flake out. One summer I made about 6 apple pies, that I froze. Yep, lost the pies and EVERYTHING in my fridge/freezer!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
Made a dozen pies for last Thankgiving and made 14 more this year! Everyone loved it - even my kids - who normally don't like Apple pie!
