About this Cook
After working in a boring office job for over 10 years, I finally pursued my passion in interior design & left my safe job in banking. I'm now doing what I love & wish I'd done it sooner!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new recipes, especially ethnic ones.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pork tenderloin stuffed with fresh sage, lemon & garlic in a white wine sauce.
My cooking tragedies
When I first started cooking I tried to do a roast beef, but since I didn't know anything about cuts of meat at the time, chose a terrible roast. When I went to cut into it, it was full of fat & grissle & was completely inedible!

Hot Buttered Rum Batter
We found this far too sweet & watery. I can see its potential though & might try it again, but perhaps in coffee to make the flavour a little richer & hopefully cut some of the sweetness.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)
Very tasty! I used breasts instead of thighs because that's just what I happened to have on hand. I couldn't find ginger garlic paste, so I used one minced clove of garlic & approximately 1 tsp of chopped ginger. I used milk instead of the half & half for health purposes - still turned out great. It was excellent & well received by hubby too. I'll definitely make this again.

Insalata Caprese I
This is a wonderful, fresh salad & a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats. I happenened to have a fennel bulb on hand that I wanted to use, so I added it to the salad & it complemented the flavors well.
