Wow! This was the best stew I ever had! I did make some changes that the other reviews suggested which I believe made the stew more flavorful. I used beef broth instead of water, and did not add the corn. I also did not thicken the stew with the cornstarch mixture. My family perfers a "bothy" stew. I did dredge the stew meat in flour, salt, pepper and paprika before browning - and I used two pounds of meat because that is what I had on hand. Normally I don't review recipes if I made changes with but this was such a great stew especially if you are looking for a recipe without a tomato base.

Fluffy Pancakes

These pancakes were outstanding! They turned out so light but very flavorful. I followed the other reviewers advise and let the mix stand for about 20 min before cooking. My only disappointment was that I did not use REAL maple syrup - these pancakes deserve the real stuff.

Middle Eastern Rice with Black Beans and Chickpeas

WOW!! This knocked our socks off!! I normally do not review recipes that I make substitutions to, but this was so good!! I did not have turkey - so I left the meat out completely and I only had one can of black beans. I did not have any yogurt so I did not use that either. Even with these subtractions, this was a great dish - especially if you like spicy food. I can't wait to make it as written. Thanks for posting.

Baked Ziti with Sausage

Well, I have a new dinner staple. It was very tastey and very easy to prepare. It does make a very large amount - I would say it makes 10 to 12 servings.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

I must say I have never had a cookie that tasted better the second day than right of the oven - but this was that cookie. I did add about a cup of chocolate chips but otherwise made just as listed. A very good cookie.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

I am suspect when someone says that their whatever is the best, however, this banana bread is Extremely good. It made a very dark bread that did not rise much but the taste was out of this world.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Clone of a Cinnabon

WOW! The cream cheese frosting on these rolls were the best food item I think I have ever put in my mouth. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed these cinnamon rolls. I didn't check the calorie count because I don't want to know!

My Kid's Favorite Pork Chops

All three of my young children and my husband loved these pork chops. I must say that I was so-so about them but will keep making them since they were such a hit with the family. I did use a tangy BBQ sauce which I will substitute with more sweet sauce in the future.

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

I am not a steak person but we made this for Christmas Eve dinner - what a great decision. I always thougth that the whole salt encusted thing was kind of a fad - but this is the way I will always cook prime rib. We made it just as written with the exception that ours took a little longer to cook. If you are worred about the meat being too salty - don't worry, it's perfect.

Different Chicken Divan

This is an odd recipe. We absolutley LOVE curry - that being said we have never had it with cheese. It just didn't seem to mix well. However, this my possibly just be a matter of taste. It is worth a try to make because of the ease of prep.

Super Easy Chicken Chili

I took this to a party last night and got rave reviews all night long. I made it just as stated in the recipe and would not change anything. I did use my husbands home made chili power which has a much better flavor than store bought. The amount of cumin seems to be too much but it is great. Thank you for posting such a great recipe.

Apple Crisp II

My family loved this. I did cut the recipe in half and baked in an 8 x 8 stoneware pan. I used Northern Spy apples which are on the tart side. I noticed that some of the negitive reviews complained about dish being too sweet - I think this can easily be altered with the type of apples used and the ratio of topping and apples. This is the only apple crisp recipe I will use in the future.

Banana Bread Cookies

Cream Cake Dessert

Chocolate-Covered OREO Cookie Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's fifth birthday party. I was so happy with the results. The cake looked and tasted great. I especially liked the fact the the cake tasted like it was not made from crunched up oreos - it really had a more complex taste. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome Pasta Salad

I believe most pasta salads are the same with the exception of the dressing. When I made this I used bottled Italian Salad Dressing (Wishbone). I was disappointed. I wouldn't change anything if I make it again except with a homemade dressing.

Crumb-Topped Rhubarb

I cannot believe how simple but good this is. We made it two days in a row and my young children who would not normally eat rhubarb DID!! The only thing I would do differently is double the recipe!
