About this Cook
I have been married for almost 15 years to my husband Larry. He loves my cooking, and after being a very picky eater in his youth, I think he has become a bit braver in tasting new foods. He used to be very picky and would never try anything new. Now he will always at least try, and he is honest about whether he likes it or not. We do alot of entertaining at our home and I love nothing more than to make a big meal and wait on everyone hand and foot.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilling steaks and seafood, especially salmon. And I do like making appetizer type foods. I have a great hot wings recipe that I came up with on my own and that is usually what gets requested when I have to make a dish to pass for a gathering.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making a good old fashioned pot roast in the oven on cold winter day. And if I have it on hand, I will serve it up with my Grandmothers famous chili sauce.
My cooking triumphs
I learned to make spinach pie (spanakopita), and perfected my own egg roll recipe, and nacho dip. Again, my hot wings are a hit each time I make them.
My cooking tragedies
Garlic bread, straight from the box, I burn it every time...just ask my husband. If we have company for dinner, I usually pawn the garlic bread off on another person. I will wreck it.

Mimosa
We have mimosa'a every year on New Year's Eve Day...and sometimes again on New Year's Day, if we have any champagne left. They are a splended treat...I have added a splash of peach schnapps to them before too...very good!!!!

Baked Parmesan Perch
This is the BEST fish recipe I have tried in a very long time...I used Tilapia. My husband ate it right up and asked me to make it again soon. That's a bonus since he is not a big fish fan.

Oven-Dried Beef Jerky
Just a quick note...I used to make jerky for a local grocery store...you do not have to bake it that long. Try it again at 200 degrees and stick a wooden spoon in the oven door so that is cracked a tad. Bake it for about 1 1/2 hours. According to what I see, the ingredients should make this recipe taste great...trust me and try it again.
