About this Cook
I grew up with a mother who thought cooking was opening boxes and cans. As an adult I enjoy good tasting freshly prepared foods. My middle child had many severe food allergies, which forced me to make most foods from scratch when she was little. Thankfully she has outgrown many of her worst allergies. We moved to England in 2004, I cook daily because it is healther and we all enjoy the US flavors.
My favorite things to cook
fresh ingredients. We have found a local farmer that we get fresh meat from monthly - it is so much better than most things wrapped in plastic.

Pumpkin Zucchini Bread
Made it exactly as written. I would add more zucchini. It was fun to share this with my English friends who could not image what "courgette bread" tasted like. Several asked for the recipe.

London Broil II
My family loved this recipe. I did add 1/2 lemon juice (but that was a little too much). Will make this again!

Lamb Madras Curry
I was a bit intimidated by all the spices, but once you start it is easy to do. I used a left over lamb shoulder roast. could not find dried red peppers, so I tried substituting 1/2t of powder. sauce was slightly sweet with a little warmth. Good recipe, but hasn't replaced my favorite take-away. will try the recipe again.
