About this Cook
I will be receiving my Masters degree in Forensic Science soon and have a bachelors from the University of Washington. I have a real passion for baking/pastries....I'm hoping someday to do something with Forensic Science and be an accomplished baker/pastry chef on the side. I have a fabulous fiance' who's my one and only QA when fresh baked goods come out of the oven.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! Cookies, breads, desserts, pies, cakes anything - you name it! If I haven't tried it yet, I want to! I also enjoy cooking: chicken, pastas, fish, ethnic foods (still learning). I love trying new things. My fiance' thinks my chicken katsu is the best :o)
My favorite family cooking traditions
As my asian friends will say...no holiday goes without rice :o) No real favorite tradition, but I love my mom's Chinese congee and steamed fish, she makes the best! We'd also have prime rib for all holidays and my dad does a great job with it. :o)
My cooking triumphs
I've mastered my sugar cookie recipe. Trial and error several times until I've perfected the ingredients, how thick to roll the dough, and how long to bake then, down to the exact minute..no estimates here!
My cooking tragedies
There have been times where I'll get too excited when taking out cookies and not watch the sheet when pulling it out of the oven..and well...the sheet/cookies will scrape the top of the oven and...well you know!! I get cookie all over!
