Tasty Buns

This is a good, basic, FAST recipe. I like making my own breads but I hardly every have time. These rose much faster then I anticipated - I checked them after ~25 minutes and they were doubled in size. We ate half and froze the other half - kept wonderfully. Thanks for sharing!

These were smaller than I expected so I only made three patties instead of four. I should of increased the baking time, but didn't think of it. Maybe then the texture would have been more tolerable. .

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

3 1/2 stars, really. I like these betther than my husband did -- he felt the flavor was a little odd. Liked them, but couldn't see himself eating them again. Oh well, I made them on the skewers on the rotissere -- very easy. Worth trying.

Southwest Style Turkey Casserole

Very good and easy to make. I scaled to serve 2 and made a few changes: added garlic powder, chili powder and cumin. Also added a few splashes of hot sauce. Increased the amount of chilis (used a whole 4 oz can) - good base recipe, easy to modify to your tastes. Thanks for sharing!

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

This was wonderful! I did make some changes: I used a 2# beef chuck cross rib roast but didn't change the quantity of spices. I added 1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper, 2 diced jalapenos and an extra 1/2 clove of garlic. I put it in the slow cooker on med-high for 6 hours with a cup of beef broth. After I shredded the beef I put it back in the slow cooker with the juices for ~1/2 hour (on simmer). My apartment smelled so good all afternoon while this cooked, we could hardly wait for dinner!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Couldn't get this to work for me as well as I would have liked. Very good taste though, more like a cookie than a crust. I used it with a lemon pie and a chocolate peanut butter pie -- held up better with the chocolate peanut butter.

True Lancashire Hot Pot

This was okay -- had to use up the leftover lamb from Greek Easter. We also had some Greek sausage left, and I so I threw that in too. Would be good maybe with some peas mixed in with it. Good comfort food - will probably make again.

Creamy Banana Bread

This was so tasty - even better the second day! I used 6 oz of Neufatchel cheese, unsalted butter in place of margarine, and increased the bananas to 1 1/4 cups. Turned out perfect!
