I have two kids-4 and 1 yrs old. I love to prepare new dishes for my family since I recently got to quit my job and stay home with the kids. My husband and I like to entertain, usually friends with kids. We cook and eat, drink a little wine...Good food and good company!
My favorite things to cook
We like traditional meals-meat & potatoes mostly. I don't like to take time to make a meal thats not-so-good, so I stick to familiar foods. Super-yummy meatloaf, juicy baked chicken, homemade soups, and pasta sauces. I'm not much into desserts. Stuff in the crock pot is never-fail. I can't mess that up. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Don't have many good ones really. My mom didn't cook much(single working mother), so she's pretty surprised I can put an edible meal together. I used to make batches and batches of cookies with my grandma at christmas, but I would't know what to do with that many cookies, so I dont really do that. Maybe when I'm a grandma and I have a really big family. ;)
My cooking triumphs
I made a whole Thanksgiving dinner for my dad that turned out perfect. Pretty much every recipe I've used from this website has been a big hit. Lindas Fake and Bake Chicken and Simple Savory Pork Roast are two recent favorites.
My cooking tragedies
My pot roasts have been really gross lately. One was absolutely inedible. Luckily my husband is so sweet and says its good even if its not.
